here comes Canon EOS 7D!
horaay! my first post for the month of september...
ber month started already and Canon announced it's latest dslr entry. the Canon EOS 7D. this high end dslr is feature packed and has loads of improvement from its predecessor the, Canon EOS 50D.
i found the features really great. dpreview even noted that it's more of a big brother of 50D rather than 50D's replacement.
image taken from http://www.dpreview.com/news/0909/09090105canoneos7d.asp
some of its key features are below (taken from http://www.dpreview.com/news/0909/09090105canoneos7d.asp):
to add up to those mentioned above, it has 19 AF points, remote flash, compatible with EF and EF-S lines of lenses and Canon Speedlites..
Designed and manufactured by Canon, the sensor produces an outstanding image and offers fantastic performance at high and low conditions, thanks to a new photodiode and microlens construction.
Enabled by the Dual “DIGIC 4” processors and improved electrical system, photographers can capture images at 8fps, without the need for additional accessories and in all file types.
The EOS 7D enables photographers to capture subjects in their natural light. The ISO range (100 – 6,400) is expandable to 12,800.
With improved operation, making it easy to switch directly to movie mode, it is now even simpler to shoot Full HD video. Users can set exposure and frame rate – with options for 24 fps to create that cinematic feel.
By utilising Dual “DIGIC 4” processors, users of the EOS 7D never have to compromise between shooting speed, image quality and ISO performance.
Canon has listened to photographer feedback when designing the body, as well as the internal technologies. A magnesium alloy body offers environmental protection – the tough, lightweight construction is designed to defend against moisture, and dust – equivalent to the legendary EOS–1N.

my new Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
remember my previous post regarding my question whether to buy a new lens or not? link and link here. and if ever, what should i buy? well i have finally decided to buy a new lens last october 17, 2008. had the chance to go for a very short business trip to hong kong. i was thinking whether or not buy a new lens the whole time.. but since i wasn't able to accomplish anything and my trip had to be so short... (T.T i miss hong kong!) i bought a new lens for me just the night before i go back home.
i've decided to buy the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 ultra wide angle lens. since i still have my good ol' trusty Tamron, i've decided to buy the prime lens in the future.. besides, i get frustrated if my tamron lens can't go any wider than 28. hahah! so i thought i really needed a wide angle lens. and so i went to the store, asked for the lens, took out my wallet and presented my credit card. and i will be paying for it by next month.. sheeeshh.. i really need to look for other ways to earn extra NOW!
owell. i knew this lens wouldn't disappoint me, so the moment i bought this lens, i took some shots already.. and here are some of the shots i took with my new baby.
bought my new lens in this area, mongkok. took a few shots right after buying my new baby..
i was waiting for my flight and decided to play around with my cam's picture styles. so here are the results. no editing done with the pics.. just adjusted my cam's picture style!
another modified picture style shot..
and another haha! i love black and white! love the new lens by the way! UWA!
now the best part of this lens is, now, i can take my own pictures hahaha!
yey! i am happy but my pocket is angry..

canon eos 5d mark ii
the latest model and i think the most awaited model of canon releases this year is non other than the Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
i am really hoping i could get one myself in the future. this is a full frame dslr. announced last september 17, 2008.
it has a lot of pretty interesting features and upgrades. not to mention its new 21 MP CMOS sensor, Digic 4 processor and full HD video recording!
i know it's a digital slr, supposed to capture photos and still images, but i was really in aw upon seeing the sample clips of this monster. Canon really pulled it through this year with this model's release.
to read a full review, visit dpreview.
also wait for the awesome sample video clips available online. they really are amazing! so far this is the most popular clips released online. untouched, not edited, just resized.

canon prime lenses
which one??
waaah! my tamron lens already has a problem. i am planning to have it repaired but the thing is, i have to go to hong kong just to do that.
there are no service centers on tamron here in the philippines. i wish they would open one soon! but anyway, my lens is still usable, it's a 28-75mm f/ 2.8 by the way. i've been using it for over a year now. and now it has problem. my camera hangs (err99) everytime i zoomed/ shoot at 70mm and above. i can still use it at around 60mm to 24mm but still, sometimes it gets annoying for me to reset my camera every now and then when i forget about not zooming til 70mm.
so the next time i go to HK, i wish to have it fixed. hmm but right now, i'm considering of buying a new lens. thinking of buying prime instead of zoom lenses.
here are 2 lenses i'm considering. actually there are 3, but i guess the 85mm f/1.8 is out of the question since it won't provide you with rooms to shoot in most of the scenarios. and i want to get myself an UWA lens too! so i'm kinda out of the budget.
so i'm choosing either the canon ef-s 60mm f/2.8 macro or, canon ef 50mm f/1.4. both are superb lenses. they, of course, have their pros and cons over one another. but i'm a bit confused. i shoot figures and toys, so i guess the 60mm is going to be useful. but the downside of it is that it's ef-s. not that im going to buy a full fram cam soon, but i'm thinking of buying a lens for longer terms. since they are canon and both are great lenses. on the other hand, based on the reveiws i've read, 60mm has greater advantages. i mean, in terms of picture quality and all. haaay.. or should i just buy the UWA first? waaah! still planning to buy studio lights.. *sigh*.

canon ef 50mm f/1.4.

anyway. i won't be buying them very soon, well not that soon but they are already in my wish list. haaay.. can anybody please buy me a new lens??
can anybody help me decide on this? thank you! would really appreciate it!
